LIMS INTEGRATION

For over 20 years Orbis Labsystems has been providing consulting services for all aspects of the LIMS lifecycle, from implementation, to support, and the most important aspect of any mainstream software system, integration.  We have developed a very clear understanding of what it takes to plan and successfully implement any type of integration project.

Based on input from our customers, the typical Return on Investment (ROI) for an instrument integration project is less than one year.  The ROI on integration projects with other systems (e.g. master data, product specifications, ERP data, etc.) are even higher and can continue over the life of the LIMS.  In most cases, these projects are focused on operational effectiveness and increased capacity & throughput.

LIMS implementations can typically be defined as a full implementation that covers the laboratory bench (LES), instrument integration, final results including specification checks, and material/lot disposition. Limited LIMS implementations  are defined as those configurations in which the LIMS manages the final result and not necessarily the other lab functions or interfaces to other systems.

Irrespective of your LIMS implementation Orbis Labsystems can partner with you to provide Consulting, Planning, Implementation and Training services for all aspects of the Instrument Integration process.

Instrument Integration

The Instrument integration element of any LIMS project is typically a key factor in delivering effective cost benefits and return on investment for the implementation.

Whether the project is integrating one instrument or the entire laboratory, a project plan would include the below elements:

  1. Instrument Inventory

  2. Instrument Data Assessment

  3. Define Laboratory Data Flow and Process for each Instrument. For well defined

  4. QC Processes we can provide a Laboratory Execution System (LES)

  5. Create and Validate Instrument Integration Workflow

Systems Integration

90% of major QC LIMS projects will require some level of integration with other systems to:

  • Avoid re-keying data from one system to another

  • Sends business critical Laboratory Information to corporate reporting

  • Automates Testing Lifecycle
